Looking for a counsellor or psychologist in Stellenbosch?

Most people use “counsellor” or “psychologist” as a catch-all — it usually means someone I can talk to who knows what they are doing. If that is what brought you here, you are in the right place. One honest distinction is worth making, though.

I am an experienced counsellor and therapist, not a registered psychologist. My background is in applied psychology — a Graduate Diploma in Counselling through SACAP, a B Comm (Ind Psych) from Stellenbosch, and international affiliate registration with the American Psychological Association (Reg No 97099236).

For over a decade I have worked as a counsellor on multidisciplinary teams at clinics, both locally and internationally.

In practice that means we work through what life is doing to you — anxiety, depression, relationships, loss, addiction, self-esteem, questions of meaning and purpose — in conversation, over time. Formal psychometric assessment and diagnosis fall outside my scope of practice. Where that is what you need, I will say so plainly and help you find the right person.

Not sure which of those you are looking for? Send me a message and we can work out together whether I am the right fit for you.
